In 2018, the Corcoran School also welcomed back works of art from the Corcoran Gallery to serve as the foundation of a rich research collection available to students, faculty and the public. This has become the Corcoran Study Collection (CSC), created as a part of the broad range of arts initiatives and collections across GW's campuses.

The Corcoran School is an incubator for artists, designers and scholars, who learn from internationally renowned faculty at the intersection of creativity and social innovation. Lauren Onkey is the new director of Columbian College's Corcoran School of the Arts and Design as of July, 2021. Dr. Onkey brings to the Corcoran two decades of hands-on experience in the arts and cultural studies, paired with considerable scholarly achievement in her field.

Through interdisciplinary studies we collaborate with diverse GW departments, work on adaptive reuse projects positioned within historic contexts in DC, and on projects that highlight the global vision of the university.
