Unaccompanied minors transiting in Germany Please note that the Unaccompanied Minors Handling Service is currently not available in transit in Germany. Customers are advised to book their flights via alternative transit points in Europe if they require handling service for passengers under the age of 18 years old.
To use the Unaccompanied Minor service, you’ll pay the price of an adult’s ticket plus a service surcharge. For direct flights, this will be between EUR 100 and EUR 150. All flights with a transfer have a surcharge between EUR 200 and EUR 300. For return tickets, you’ll pay the fee twice.
Unaccompanied minors must travel on an adult fare. Children over the age of 12 can travel alone, and they fly on an adult fare. If you'd like to use our unaccompanied minors service for children aged 5 to 12, the fee is R750 for each leg of the journey.
