Sep 28, 1994 · Ed Wood impresses with a good cast (though it can get confusing with the many speaking parts it exhibits) but is a film that leads into nowhere. Obviously, Burton reveres Wood in some strange way, but he can't (or just doesn't) stop this biography of drifting off into a boring tale of a strange transvestite.

Oct 7, 2019 · Ed Wood was decidedly nothing like a Jim Carrey movie. Dark, sweet and restrained (by Burton standards, anyway), Ed Wood chronicles the life of Edward D. Wood Jr. (Johnny Depp), a crossdressing wannabe auteur in the 1950s who befriends his hero, a washed-up and drug-addled Bela Lugosi (Martin Landau), and makes schlocky B-movies with a misfit crew.
Ed Wood mě prostě kromě svých Burtonovsko-atmosferických triků, či Bélových strhujících monologů s náhle rozšířeným hudebním podbarvením prakticky ničím nezaujal. Na film se krásně dívá, stojí za shlédnutí, ale kdybych nebyl býval od něj tolik čekal, byl bych býval nebyl tak zklamán…Proto "jen" 4* ;o) ( 14.11.2006 )
