Jimmy, an aspiring actor, wants out of South Brooklyn where hoods run the show. Since the death of his firefighter father, Jimmy's family has been the guys at the station house and Tommy, a mobster who owns a gym where Jimmy works. Tommy encourages Jimmy's dreams, and Jimmy gets the part of Banquo in a Joseph Papps production of "Macbeth."

Feb 19, 2004 · The writing seemed as though a hundred mob-movie cliches were place in a hat and this just picked out one at a time and wrote it into the script. When I can complete the line before the actor does, and when I have never seen the movie before, that is a sign that there wasn't a lot of fresh, creative thought put into the writing of this movie.

A young man tries to escape the crime-ridden streets of his Brooklyn neighborhood by joining a local theater group where he meets and fall in love with an actress. His new-found happiness is threatened, however, when he catches his best friend disposing of a body.
