The Black and White film of "Virginia City" is very well done, but considering the filming sites of the American West, it could have been indeed spectacular if it had been filmed in Technicolor. Most of the filming on location was done in and near Flagstaff, Arizona, with additional filming in Calabassas, California near the Warner Brothers Ranch and one scene in Victorville.
