Giancarlo Bigazzi, noto anche con lo pseudonimo di Katamar (Firenze, 5 settembre 1940 – Camaiore, 19 gennaio 2012), è stato un produttore discografico, compositore e paroliere italiano, componente del gruppo degli Squallor.
Giancarlo was irreverent, rough, substantial, like the best old Tuscan bread. His life only had a sense for him if he could create music and songs, find a harmony between notes and lyrics; thus when his serious illness made this impossible, on 19th Jan 2012 “he deaded himself…”.
Giancarlo Bigazzi was born in Florence on 5th Sept 1940. His father Renato was a policeman at the Florence Central Police Station, a firm, decisive man; his mother Tina was a primary school and piano teacher, who tried in vain to teach her son the musical notes but who was in any case perhaps responsible for Giancarlo’s musical sensitivity.
