6 days ago · While watching the video I decided that I would start playing the notes of various keys using the major and minor chords I.e. 1sr major, chords 2 and 3 minor, chords 4 and 5 major, chord 6 minor and chord 7 diminished, as an experiment to check my chord knowledge.
5 days ago · When you learn chords, you don’t have to go back to the C major scale every time but check the root note of the desired chord and apply the relevant major/minor/augmented/diminished/etc formula. 2 Likes

For Major: The 1 4 and 5 are major chords, 2 3 and 6 are minor and 7 is diminished. I learned triads whch allowed me to make these chords easily. They are movable shapes so you can switch chords quickly.
