Mar 18, 2019 · Since no one has mentioned it: "The Trouble With Harry" which was Shirley MacLaine's film debut, also starring John Forsythe, Edmund Gwenn, the wonderful Mildred Natwick and Jerry Mathers as Not the Beaver. It's very British in the way it's so matter of fact about a corpse, but it's a rather cute little comedy.
Aug 15, 2015 · George Kennedy-big dumb oafish dolt. Frank Sinatra-love it when he gets electrocuted in "Suddenly". Have long disliked some of those from the 50's like Gary Merrill, Barry Sullivan, Barry Nelson, Ralph Meeker,, Hugh Marlowe. Shocked and saddened that Joan Blondell would even be mentioned once here!
Oct 17, 2021 · His last Broadway appearance was in Tennessee Williams and Donald Windham's adaptation of a D.H. Lawrence short story, "You Touched Me". It ran for a few months in 1944 and co-starred Edmund Gwenn. Clift looked great in uniform.
Apr 14, 2020 · Giant Ant Movie (1954) Just watched this on TCM. Great post-nuclear war fallout movie fun. And damn - James Arness was one hot piece in his prime! 6' 6 1/2", broad shoulders, handsome face. I'd have climbed all over that back in the day! One of my favorite scifi movies! A classic!

Dec 12, 2020 · December 14, 2020 3:11 AM. I may be one of the precious few who actually saw “Sherry,” the musical version of “The Man Who Came to Dinner.”. It was in Boston, while it still starred George Sanders, who left before the show transferred to New York. Best thing in it was the score by Laurence Rosenthal.
Jan 31, 2022 · He was better looking than Monty Woolley, who was also sarcastic/effete, and starred in several movies and was popular (though not as popular as Webb, ultimately). Back then they would take chances on building up character actors if the public liked them. Edmund Gwenn and Thelma Ritter, for ex. Sometimes they were cast in leads.

Norma Shearer turned down “Mrs. Miniver”, because she didn’t want to portray the mother of an older teenager. Garson played all the Norma Shearer roles. She was very lucky, too, to be in the right place at the right time, World War ll.
