  2. A. LittleBill. For me, the biggest negative has to the be fact that it seems to be so ******* windy all the time. The 450 acre campus isn't exactly what I'd call claustrophobic, though admittedly the buildings aren't as spread out as say a city university, but neither is it half as busy and crowded as a city.

  3. Well clearly we're doing something right if Loughborough won best university for the 5th year in a row. In addition to winning overall this year, it came first in facilities, social life, campus life, extracurricular activities/societies, and obviously sporting facilities, and came 2nd for best student union, and excelled well in pretty much ...

  6. 3. There is a Jewish society. Loughborough excels in terms of providing things for students to do, with societies etc. I'll be honest with you in terms of the nightlife, Nottingham would be a better choice. Loughborough's main nightlife is at the union and theres a closer culture on the campus as a result.

  8. May 11, 2013 · It's pretty good value for money though, as if you're self-catered, you're more tempted to buy more expensive things at sainsbury's. Elvyn Richards is 100% catered-en-suite (10 meals per week) and all other catered halls - except Towers - have some en-suite rooms (David Collett, Royce, Rutherford, Faraday, Cayley) and all have 15 meals per week.

  9. No, Loughborough is not a 'bad' university. It's always been pretty good, but has increased in stature a bit in the last few years. Not bad for certain subjects (e.g. engineering). Clasically also very good if you like sport. On the negative side, the town's a bit ****.

  10. Loughborough is a campus university, set on very large grounds and you can find all you need on site. Nottingham and Leicester are nearby if you fancy a change of scene; this will enable you to have the best of both worlds. If it's a city vibe that you're after, then Loughborough may not be the place for you.
