And the twist reveals how even the strongest women can be broken by this harsh life. At the end, he of course cannot fit in and after making the effort, goes back to his previous ways.
Nov 24, 2014 · It totally surprised me too. I paused the movie literally seconds before the reveal to go to the toilet and came back and felt that I missed a chunk. I was convinced up until that point that TLJ's character would end up sacrificing himself or something but then the film went and flipped completely.

Dec 26, 2014 · The Homesman is one of my favorite movies of the year. But I don't think the point of the final dance was to create levity or get rid of trauma per se. I think the point was that after all of the shit that Briggs did to grow and become a better more respectable person, at the last second of the movie, is completely thrown away.
