  3. The whole polemic here is about the new tuta.com domain allegedly allowing impersonation of Tutanota customers. Because your.name@tutanota.com is "almost identical" to your.name@tuta.com. As you said. This is a non-existent risk and a made-up threat, as has been explained many times on r/tutanota, by Tutanota itself (now Tuta) and Tuta users alike.

Your old tutanota email can be exported and keep offline for archive. You can't yet import yet back into tuta but you can have it for reading later. My two cents.

  10. If you're using a custom domain so it's a lot cheaper. Tuta is fine. I have used it with custom domains for several years. The UI is pretty basic and despite lots of clamoring for an update, they spent a lot of dev cycles on getting post-quantum encryption set up. Whether that will pay off for them remains to be seen.
