My pilonidal cyst popped. Yesterday at 4am my pilonidal cyst popped and I went to the hospital and they squeezed it to get the pus out of it but they didn't cut it and they put a couple of gauzes on top of it and gave me a prescription for an oral antibiotic, a topical antibiotic, an NSAID and some painkillers.

My daughter (age 20) had surgery to remove a pilonidal cyst. We were told it would heal in 2-3 months. Seven months later, her entire butt crack is still "juicy," for lack of a better word. Sometimes there's so much bleeding it drips onto the floor. She changes the dressing every day.
Yeast basically "poops" alcohol. The byproducts of different microorganisms have different odors. I've had pilonidal cyst infections and I've had even worse staph boils in other areas. The staph boils rarely smell, even when they're bad. My cyst infections are always nasty smelling.

Just as a heavy-set person constantly checks to see if their shirt or pants are correctly covering their body, I am constantly checking to see if this cyst is re-flaring back up. I check with my hands, and it looks unsanitary even when I sometimes check out of habit in a public setting.

Ive also had the ps since 2018 and some kind of dermatitis and other heart problems (apparently im healthy to all heart doctors) have shown up and now im finally going to surgery to deal with the sinus/cyst.
