Positive reviews of the debut album ‘Hard N’ Heavy’ had been followed by the titanic (and essential) ‘Metal On Metal’ album. Following that was the almost as awesome ‘Forged In Fire’.

It’s taken a small army of AMG writers to keep up with the band’s output and this time, my number came up.

The new album is focused on what the band has always been about – straightforward riff-driven heavy metal with catchy melodies. There are no trends in sight. This is good-old Anvil the way they sounded when we grew to love them on the very first album.
Try Accept, they sound like German Judas Priest but with AC/DC vocals. Fun fact: all of their album titles are alliterations, three words, first and third word start with the same letter. Anvil! The story of Anvil is a very good rockumentary about the band. You will definitely love the band afterwards!
3 days ago · Als ich damals 1983 die Band mit ihrem Drittling „Forged In Fire“ ins Herz schloss, war ich noch ein Teenie. Nun schaut mich aus dem Spiegel eine ähnlich ergraute und faltige Visage an. Na, lassen wir das. Es scheint, als würden auch ANVIL merken, dass es in diversen Gelenken knackt, und so beginnt das Album mit dem Titelsong eher gemütlich.
