Joonas Viljami Suotamo (Finnish pronunciation: [ˈjoːnɑs ˈsuo̯tɑmo]; born 3 October 1986) is a Finnish actor and former professional basketball player.
Joonas Suotamo was born on 3 October 1986 in Espoo, Finland. He is an actor, known for Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018), Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019) and Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015). He is married to Milla Pohjasvaara.
Joonas became Chewbacca in Star Wars: The Last Jedi and continued throughout the last chapter of the Skywalker trilogy, Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker. He is currently set to return to the Star Wars galaxy, this time as a new character in the highly anticipated show 'The Acolyte'.
