Frank Edwin Wright III (born December 9, 1972), better known by his stage name Tré Cool, is an American musician, best known as the long-time drummer for the rock band Green Day. He replaced the band's former drummer, John Kiffmeyer , in 1990. [4]

Dec 9, 2016 · His nickname Tré is derived from his surname, while Cool was given to him by his neighbour Larry Livermore – founder of Lookout! Records, one-time home of Green Day. He made his first recording with Livermore’s band The Lookouts, aged 12. He appears on their 1987 debut, One Planet One People.
His effervescent look and personality once prompted Modern Drummer magazine to describe Tre Cool as the world’s eternal punk rock poster boy, but for every ounce of style there is a ton of substance behind his drum work.
