Jan Lachauer (born 1983 in Munich) is a film maker and animator from Germany. Lachauer and fellow producer Max Lang were nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film for the film Room on the Broom.

Lachauer studierte nach einem Jahr Praktikum bei Studio Soi in Ludwigsburg von 2005 bis 2011 Animation an der Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. Seit 2007 arbeitet er als freiberuflicher Animator. Jan Lachauer is a two time Oscar-nominated, BAFTA, Annie and Emmy-winning director who is known for co-directing the BBC Christmas Specials „Room on the Broom“ in 2012 and „Revolting Rhymes Part One & Two“ in 2016.
