Steaming is a British drama film directed by Joseph Losey, released in 1985, the year after his death. The last film that Losey directed, it was adapted by Nell Dunn and Patricia Losey from Dunn's play of the same name. The film was screened out of competition at the 1985 Cannes Film Festival. [3]
Don Giovanni is a 1979 French-Italian film directed by Joseph Losey. It is an adaptation of Mozart 's classic 1787 opera Don Giovanni, based on the Don Juan legend of a seducer, destroyed by his excesses. The opera itself has been called one of Mozart's "trio of masterpieces".
Patricia Losey went on to adapt Lorenzo Da Ponte's opera libretto for Losey's Don Giovanni and Nell Dunn's play for Steaming. He died at his home in London on June 22, 1984, following a brief illness, four weeks after completing his last film.
