Fred Niblo (born Frederick Liedtke; January 6, 1874 – November 11, 1948) was an American pioneer film actor, director and producer.
Fred Niblo entered films in 1917 after two decades as a touring actor in vaudeville and one-time manager of 'The Four Cohans' (he married Josephine Cohan, the sister of George M. Cohan). He made his film debut with two early Australian silent films in 1916.

Fred Niblo was an American pioneer film actor, director and producer. He was born Frederick Liedtke in York, Nebraska, to a French mother and a father who had served as a captain in the American Civil War and was wounded at the Battle of Gettysburg.
Fred Niblo was a silent film director who made Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ (1925) and worked with Greta Garbo. He was also a vaudeville actor and a founder of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
