Ottokar Runze (19 August 1925 – 22 September 2018) was a German film producer, director and screenwriter. His 1974 film In the Name of the People was entered into the 24th Berlin International Film Festival, where it won the Silver Bear. The following year, he was a member of the jury at the 25th Berlin International Film Festival.
Ottokar Runze. Producer: Im Namen des Volkes. Runze started his career at the age of 23 as an actor. But already at 26 he was manager of the avantgardistic "Theater in the British Center". Later he worked as a writer and director for dubbing foreign movies to German. His first jobs as director were at various theaters in Berlin, Hamburg and Munich.
