Oct 18, 2022 · Keith Whitley was officially inducted as the 149th member of the Country Music Hall of Fame on Sunday evening (Oct. 16) during the star-studded Medallion Ceremony at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s CMA Theater.
Years of alcoholism severely compromised his health and he died of alcohol intoxication in 1989 at his Goodlettsville home at the age of 34. His later singles, "I Wonder Do You Think of Me", "It Ain't Nothin'", and "I'm Over You", were released after his death. In 2022, Whitley was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
After experimenting with a few lineups, Crowe hired bassist Steve Bryant, mandolinist Jimmy Gadreau, as well as former Ralph Stanley guitarist Keith Whitley. This band produced three albums: My Home Ain't In the Hall of Fame, Live in Japan, and Somewhere Between.
