The film, is about Johnny Lingo, the greatest trader in the Polynesia islands, who bargains for a bride, paying an exorbitant amount and causing a sensation on the island. Lingo does this to tech the islanders a lesson about the true beauty of Mahana, the woman he loves but whom the islanders think is ugly.
