Frank, and his colleagues Pablo Ortiz, Carlos da Costa, and Peter Negron saved the lives of 77 people that day, as well as freeing some others who eventually perished. The last member of the impromptu rescue crew was Mak Hanna, who survived due to carrying an elderly man down from the 89th on De Martini’s instructions.
