Blankenship´s next production (with Rebecca Blankenship) will be DIALOGUES DES CARMELITES for the Opera Mönchengladbach (April 2022). Beverly Blankenship started directing opera some years ago. Big stories, mythic landscapes, large casts and the power of music proved irresistible.
Beverly Blankenship. Beverly was born in Texas, grew up in Vienna and is bilingual (English and German). She trained as an actress at the Max Reihardt Seminar, accepted her first contract at the Landestheater Salzburg, then left Europe for the blue skies of Australia.
Despite Blankenship´s success as a film author she has not written many film scripts. Writing is a lonely profession for someone who thrives in the creative bustle of theatre. Directing a film on the other hand needs an amazing amount of energy and team work.
