Peter PAN Lei 潘壘(1926.8.4–2017.7.22) Screenwriter, Director. A native of Hepu, Guangdong, Pan was born with the name Pan Rongsheng in Haiphong, Vietnam. As the only son of the family, he fled to Kunming with his sister and brother-in-law during the Second World War.
Pan Lei was born in 1926 and joined Shaw Brothers in the 60s. In 1963 his movie Lover's Rock created fame for himself and Cheng Pei-pei , then a new star. Pan tried his hands at scriptwriting, directing and writing lyrics for movie theme songs.
