Mario Benedetti Farrugia (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈmaɾjo βeneˈðeti] ⓘ; 14 September 1920 – 17 May 2009), was a Uruguayan journalist, novelist, and poet and an integral member of the Generación del 45.
