    David Hackl (born February 7, 1963) is a Canadian film director and production designer best known for his work on the Saw franchise.

    He was the production designer of Saw II, Saw III, and Saw IV and the director of Saw V.

    David Hackl was the production designer and second unit director for Saw II, Saw III, Saw IV, and Repo! The Genetic Opera. Later, Hackl was set to direct both Saw V and Saw 3D. However, he eventually only took charge of Saw V, whereas Kevin Greutert, the editor of the previous films in the series, helmed Saw 3D.
