  2. To help you plan your sightseeing, I've listed my ideal one-week itinerary for a first-time London visit. London is a super one-week getaway. Its sights can keep even the most fidgety traveler well entertained for seven days.

  3. During your week-long stay in London, your Rick Steves guide will lead you on a magical history tour along the Thames and through the Tower, Westminster Abbey, St. Paul's, historic neighborhoods, and plenty of priceless art — and even take you on a train trip to Windsor Castle.

    • 9:00 — Tower of London (crown jewels first to beat the crowds, then Beefeater tour, then White Tower); 13:00 — Munch a sandwich on the Thames while cruising from Tower to Westminster Bridge; 14:30 — Tour Westminster Abbey; 16:30 — Follow the self-guided Westminster Walk.
