Carl Borack (born July 12, 1947) is an American former fencer. He competed in the individual and team foil events at the 1972 Summer Olympics. He won a gold medal in epee at the 1967 Pan American Games. In 1969 he won the US national foil championship, and in Israel the 1969 Maccabiah Games sabre championship.
Carl Borack is known for Shiloh (1996), The Big Fix (1978) and The Final Season (2007).
Carl Borack is the last great American 3-weapon fencer. As a high school student and without aid from the AFLA, Carl attended the 1965 Junior World Championships in Rotterdam. The experience was so impactful to his fencing, he went to the following year’s event as well.
Biography. Carl Borack made his first senior international team at the 1967 Pan American Games, where he won a gold medal in team foil, but he competed at the Junior World Championships in 1965-67. As a senior he competed in World Championships in 1966, 1967, and 1969.
