Maximilian Schell (8 December 1930 – 1 February 2014) was a Swiss actor. He won the Academy Award for Best Actor for the 1961 American film Judgment at Nuremberg , his second acting role in Hollywood.
Maximilian Schell was the most successful German-speaking actor in English-language films since Emil Jannings, the winner of the first Best Actor Academy Award. Like Jannings, Schell won the Oscar, but unlike him, he was a dedicated anti-Nazi.

Maximilian Schell (* 8. Dezember 1930 in Wien; † 1. Februar 2014 in Innsbruck) [1] war ein Schauspieler, Regisseur und Produzent mit österreichischer und schweizerischer Staatsangehörigkeit. Er gewann 1962 den Oscar als bester Hauptdarsteller für seine Rolle in Urteil von Nürnberg.
