Georgi Genkov graduated from the State Academy of Music in Sofia in 1951 majoring in Violin. From 1951 to 1961 he played in the orchestra of the Youth Theatre. From 1962 to 1981 he was employed at the Central Puppet Theatre. He also worked as composer and conductor at the Salza I Smyah Theatre.
