Owen is the editor and publisher of Telephone Books. She began publishing and editing Telephone Books and Telephone magazine, a press and magazine that began in mimeograph format, and has edited over thirty titles of the press and nineteen issues of the magazine.
Maureen Owen's latest title is everything turns on a delicate measure, BlazeVOX Books. Recent publications include let the heart hold down the breakage Or the caregiver's log , Hanging Loose Press and Poets on the Road , a collaborative reading tour blog with Barbara Henning, City Point Press.
Owen is the author of numerous collections of poetry, including Edges of Water (2013), Erosion’s Pull (2006), American Rush: Selected Poems (1998), American Book Award–winner AE (Amelia Earhart) (1984), and The No-Travels Journal (1975).
