Maurice Gallaga (August 25, 1943 – May 7, 2020), better known as Peque Gallaga, was a multi-awarded Filipino film-maker. His most significant achievement in film was Oro, Plata, Mata, which he directed after winning a scriptwriting contest sponsored by the Experimental Cinema of the Philippines.

May 7, 2020 · Celebrated Filipino filmmaker Peque Gallaga died aged 76 on Thursday morning in Manila. The veteran director, who was best known for his award-winning 1982 film Oro, Plata, Mata, passed away from pneumonia in a hospital in the capital, according to various reports.
