Guillaume Oyônô Mbia (2 March 1939 – 10 April 2021) was a Cameroonian writer. An Anglicist, he also taught at the University of Yaoundé. Biography. Mbia was born in 1939 in Zoétélé in Cameroon's South Region.

Oyono-Mbia, Guillaume (1939– ), Cameroonian playwright, was born in the small village of Mvoutessi II, located near the larger town of Sangmélima in southern Cameroon. His parents were poor farmers who belonged to the Bulu ethnic community. Oyono-Mbia received his primary education in his hometown.
