Coproduced by Steve Winwood, this has many of the earmarks of a Winwood affair: bouncy synthesizers, fleshed-out arrangements without the fat, and a genuine desire not to succumb to DIY mediocrity. The record featured two, count them, two hits: “That’s Love” and “Living On The Edge.”
Stephen Lawrence Winwood (born 12 May 1948) is an English musician and songwriter whose genres include blue-eyed soul, rhythm and blues, blues rock and pop rock.
His musical career spanned more than four decades. He co-founded the progressive rock band Traffic in 1967 with Steve Winwood with whom he co-wrote the majority of the band's material. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a part of Traffic's original lineup. [2]
Co-produced with Steve Winwood, Fierce Heart is a conscious attempt to channel Winwood’s success with synthesizers into Jim Capaldi’s career. The result is surprisingly effective; in fact, this might be the best solo album he’s ever recorded.
