Coyotes with parasite infections were more likely to use human resources, shifting Maureen’s interests toward wildlife disease ecology. After her doctorate, Maureen studied how feeding birds in parks can promote the spread of zoonotic bacteria, such as Salmonella, by tracking white ibis in Florida.
