In 2013, the director Annalisa Piras and I co-wrote this documentary about Italy's decades-long decline, a documentary that essentially explains why in 2018 the country elected a coalition government consisting of the Five Star Movement, a protest party, and the Lega, a formerly separatist now anti-immigrant group.
