Samuel Maoz (Hebrew: שמואל מעוז; born c. 1962) is an Israeli film director. His 2009 film, Lebanon won the Golden Lion at the 66th Venice International Film Festival. He also won the award for Best Screenplay for Lebanon at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards in 2010.
Samuel Maoz won the Jury Grand Prize at the 2010 APSAs for Lebanon, which also received the Best Screenplay award. Lebanon won the Golden Lion at the 66th Venice International Film Festival in 2009, becoming the first Israeli produced film to win that honour.
Samuel Maoz was born on 23 May 1962 in Herzliya, Israel. He is a director and writer, known for Lebanon (2009), Foxtrot (2017) and It's Good to Die for Your Country.
