The new album is called FUNKY ABBA – and Nils can call it that with much justification, through his long-standing friendship with Benny Andersson. Twenty-five years ago, on the strength of his special trombone sound, Benny asked the fresh-faced Nils to join him in the studio to play on the ABBA song “Voulez-Vous”.
Göran Bror Benny Andersson KVO1kl ( Swedish: [ˈbɛ̌nːʏ ˈânːdɛˌʂɔn] ⓘ; born 16 December 1946) is a Swedish musician, composer and producer best known as a member of the pop group ABBA and co-composer of the musicals Chess, Kristina från Duvemåla, and Mamma Mia! For the 2008 film version of Mamma Mia! and its 2018 sequel, Mamma Mia!
Landgren, who once played trombone himself on the ABBA hit “Voulez-Vous”, personally asked ABBA mastermind Benny Andersson for his blessing for the album: “ABBA was never funky. But if you can do it, then do it!” replied Andersson.

A soft vocal cover version of the song can be found on the 2004 ABBA tribute album Funky ABBA by Swedish musician Nils Landgren. This version features Benny Andersson on piano and vocals by Swedish jazz singer Viktoria Tolstoy .
