The chancellor, after all, is in charge of all the diocesan records, under canon law.

Jul 1, 2022 · Chicago - (June 23, 2022) – The Archdiocese of Chicago announced today the appointment of Deacon David Keene, Ph.D. as chancellor. Keene is currently the auditor-actuarius in the Office of Canonical Affairs. Keene will assume his new duties on July 1, and he succeeds Deacon Daniel Welter who is retiring after five years in the role.
