Roderick Ross La Rocque (November 29, 1898 – October 15, 1969) was an American actor. He was born in Chicago, Illinois to Edmund La Rocque and Ann (née Rice) La Rocque. His father was of French-Canadian descent and his mother was of Irish descent.
Tall, handsome, extremely well-built leading man of the silent and early sound eras, typically cast as devil-may-care heros in adventures and dapper, well-dressed romancers in drawing room comedies and dramas. La Rocque began making films in 1915 and was soon a prominent leading man.
The film was directed by Lynn Shores and stars Rod La Rocque as Lamont Cranston, The Shadow. (The cast list at the beginning and a newspaper article toward the end of the film spell his surname Granston).
