    Jolly was born in Surrey to an English father and Welsh mother. At the age of 12 she spent a term studying at the Tigoni Girls Academy in Limuru, Kenya. While attending Sutton High School, she became one of the youngest people to be accepted into the National Youth Theatre at the age of just 13.
