Nov 9, 2019 · A new book has been published featuring the life of railwayman Percy Parsons who worked on the Somerset and Dorset line from Evercreech to Burnham-On-Sea for fifty years. Percy started in 1937 at Edington Burtle as a junior porter and, after a gap for WW2, worked his way up to station supervisor at Bridgwater station, retiring in 1987.
Percy Parsons was born on 12 June 1872 in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. He was an actor, known for The Good Companions (1933), Criminal at Large (1932) and A Blonde Dream (1932). He was married to Natalie Lynn. He died on 3 October 1944 in St. Stephen's Hospital, Chelsea, London, England, UK.

Oct 23, 2019 · Percy Parsons' book 50 Years on The Railway is now available from Trust sales. Percy started on the S&D at Edington in 1937 and finished his long railway career at Bridgwater. It was always remarkable listening to Percy with his ability to reel off the names of people he'd worked with perhaps decades before.
