Geoffrey Sumner (20 November 1908 – 29 September 1989) was a British actor. As well as appearing in a number of films, he was also a commentator for British Movietone News., His parents were Edmund and Kathleen Marion (Brook).

The son of Edmund and Kathleen Marion (née Brook), he was educated at Clifton College and made his debut on the London stage in a 1931 production of Sport of Kings.

Apr 25, 2012 · Geoffrey Sumner died at his home in Blackheath on Monday evening. He had learned his trade on local newspapers and became a correspondent in Cairo for the Westinghouse broadcasting group in the US. He joined the BBC Radio Newsroom at the end of 1973 and rose rapidly to become a Senior Duty Editor.
