Nov 9, 2009 · HONG KONG: Renowned football commentator Spencer Lam Sheung-yee died at the age of 74 at Ruttonjee Hospital yesterday. Affectionately known as "Ah Suk", meaning uncle in Cantonese, Lam's career was not limited to football. He also starred in movies.
Lam is currently a Professor in the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Principle Scientist (joint appointment) of Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology, and Fellow of the Singapore-MIT Alliance (SMA) Program.
Biography. Although born and raised in Hong Kong Lam Sheung-Yee played international football for Chinese Taipei at a time when Hongkongers were eligible to play for the team. He played international football for a decade and top division football in Hong Kong for nearly a quarter of a century winning every available domestic honour.
