Gillian Tan is an alumna of Singapore Chinese Girls’ School. She then lived overseas from 16 to 23 years old.In 2000, she obtained a degree in communication and television production from Santa Clara University and graduated magna cum laude.
After graduating from Santa Clara University, Gillian Tan worked for three years in San Francisco as a broadcast assistant at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco and subsequently, TBWA\Chiat\Day where she edited television commercials.She returned to Singapore in 2003 to set up her independent production company, Munkysuperstar Pictures.

Ms Gillian Tan is the Assistant Managing Director of the Development and International Group and Chief Sustainability Officer, overseeing the development of Singapore as an international financial centre as well as MAS’ sustainability strategies and international relations.
