Domaine Roulot is an old family estate based in Meursault since 1820. These days it’s managed by Jean-Marc Roulot, who took over in 1989, giving up his acting career in Paris. Since his return to Meursault, Jean-Marc kept increasing the domain’s holdings through mix of vineyards purchase and fermage contracts.
The domaine was founded in 1830 by Guillaume Roulot, and has 16 hectares (40 acres) of vineyards. it is led by Jean-Marc Roulot, who produces organic wine since 1989. The 1973 vintage of Roulot's white premier cru wine Meursault Charmes was ranked second in the historic Judgment of Paris wine competition.
Jean-Marc Roulot was born on 13 December 1955 in Beaune, Côte-d'Or, France. He is an actor and writer, known for Back to Burgundy (2017), Tatort (1970) and You Will Be My Son (2011).

Jun 6, 2017 · I first became aware of them from Raj Parr, who told me about the Roulot method, so I quizzed Jean-Marc about how he makes wine. His vineyards – 15 hectares, which produce 17 different wines – have been farmed organically since 2000, and have been certified since 2013.
