George Thomas Moore Marriott (14 September 1885 [1] – 11 December 1949 [2]) was an English character actor best remembered for the series of films he made with Will Hay.

Oh, Mr Porter! is a 1937 British comedy film starring Will Hay with Moore Marriott and Graham Moffatt and directed by Marcel Varnel. While not Hay's commercially most successful (although it grossed £500,000 at the box office – equal to about £34,000,000 at 2020 value), it is probably his best-known film to modern audiences.
Moore Marriott (1885–1949) was a leading man of silents who became a character comedian specialising in hoary rustics. He was best known as the ancient but resilient old Harbottle in the Will Hay comedies, such as Oh, Mr Porter! and A Place of One’s Own.
