William Clement Frawley (February 26, 1887 – March 3, 1966) was an American Vaudevillian and actor best known for playing landlord Fred Mertz in the sitcom I Love Lucy.
Oct 8, 2020 · William Frawley, who played Bub on My Three Sons, died of a heart attack in 1966 after being fired from the show due to his health and alcoholism. Bub left the show in Season 5 to go to Ireland and was replaced by his brother Charley.
William Frawley was an American actor and singer who starred in I Love Lucy (1951) as Fred Mertz and My Three Sons (1960) as Bub O'Casey. He also appeared in over 100 films, including Miracle on 34th Street (1947) and The Bride Came C.O.D. (1941).
