Will Herthie Shields (born September 15, 1971) is an American former professional football player who was an offensive guard in the National Football League (NFL) for 14 seasons. He played college football for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, earning consensus All-American honors and winning the Outland Trophy.
Will Shields, a 6-foot-3, 320-pound guard out of Nebraska, was drafted in the third round of the 1993 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. He was placed into the lineup in his first NFL game after the team’s starting left guard Dave Szott suffered an injury.

Will Shields is a member of the NFL’s All-Decade Team for the 2000s and joined Hall of Fame linebacker Derrick Thomas as the only active players to be named to the Chiefs’ 40th Anniversary Team. He was inducted into the Chiefs Hall of Honor in 2012 and was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2015.
