Larisa Yefimovna Shepitko (Russian: Лари́са Ефи́мовна Шепи́тько, Ukrainian: Лариса Юхимівна Шепітько, romanized: Larysa Yukhymivna Shepitko; 6 January 1938 – 2 July 1979) was a Soviet film director and screenwriter of Ukrainian origin.
Larisa Shepitko was a Ukrainian director and writer, known for The Ascent, Heat and You and Me. She died in a road accident in 1979, shortly after marrying fellow director Elem Klimov.
